Creating a Hygiene-Focused Customer Experience

Hygiene-focused customer experience not only ensures the safety and health of everyone involved but also plays a crucial role in building trust and loyalty among clients. As the world faces new health challenges, clients are more aware than ever of the importance of hygiene. This has led to a growing demand for businesses that are committed to providing a safe and sanitary customer experience. Businesses that can successfully meet this demand will be well-positioned to attract and retain customers. In fact, a recent study by PwC found that 70% of consumers are more likely to do business with a company that they perceive as being hygienic. Best Practices for Creating a Hygiene-Focused Customer Experience Here are 5 actionable tips for businesses to create a hygiene-focused customer experience that will leave a lasting impression. Elevate Hygiene Standards with Regular Maintenance Maintaining a high level of hygiene is the cornerstone of a successful business. Establish a routine maintenance schedule to keep your premises spotless and germ-free. Collaborate with a professional hygiene company that offers tailored solutions to meet your specific needs. From regular deep cleaning of surfaces to disinfecting high-touch areas, an expert partner can help you maintain impeccable cleanliness standards. Implement Touchless Solutions Integrating touchless solutions is a game-changer, minimizing contact with surfaces will elevate hygiene standards within your premises. Businesses can opt for touchless soap dispensers, automatic doors, sensor-activated faucets, and hand sanitizing stations. These touchless technologies not only reduce the risk of cross-contamination but also add a modern and innovative touch to your customer experience. Train and Educate Staff Your staff members are your brand ambassadors, and their knowledge of hygiene practices is crucial in delivering a superior customer experience. Conduct comprehensive training sessions to educate your employees about the importance of hygiene, proper handwashing techniques, and the appropriate usage of personal protective equipment. Well-informed staff will inspire confidence among your customers and reinforce your commitment to their safety. Display Clear Hygiene Signage Clear and visible hygiene signage is an effective way to guide customers and employees on the safety measures you have in place. Place handwashing instructions in restrooms, reminders to wear masks, and maintain social distance in high-traffic areas. The presence of such signage shows that you take hygiene seriously and fosters a sense of responsibility among individuals to adhere to the guidelines. Conduct Regular Audits and Feedback Surveys To ensure that your hygiene practices are effective and well-received by your customers, conduct regular audits and feedback surveys. These assessments will help you identify areas for improvement and address any concerns promptly. By actively seeking feedback, you demonstrate your commitment to providing a safe and hygienic environment for everyone. In conclusion, prioritizing hygiene in your business is a vital step toward building a loyal customer base and a positive brand image. Remember, in the current scenario, hygiene is not just an added advantage, but a fundamental aspect of responsible and successful business operations. This means implementing clear and effective hygiene-focused customer experience throughout the customer journey, from the moment they arrive at your business to the moment they leave.

Impact of Hygiene on Customer Satisfaction

Hospitality Industry: Hygiene Determines Customer Satisfaction

In the hospitality industry, customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance. From hotels and resorts to restaurants and cafes, businesses in this sector strive to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience for their guests. One key factor that can greatly impact customer satisfaction is hygiene in the hospitality business. The Importance of Hygiene in Hospitality Hygiene is essential for maintaining the health and safety of guests. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, concerns about cleanliness and sanitation have been heightened. A dirty hotel room or restaurant can harbor bacteria and germs that can lead to illness, which can ruin a customer’s vacation or dining experience. Prevent the spread of illness and provide a safe environment for your guests, by ensuring that all surfaces are regularly cleaned and disinfected. Hygiene standards also have an impact on the food and beverage products produced by the institution. Poor hygiene standards can lead to food contamination, resulting in health issues for the customers or staff. To ensure this does not happen, a good hygiene standard must be maintained. This includes an appropriate level of cleaning, the correct protective equipment and processes for the staff, the correct storage of food and beverage products, the regular maintenance of equipment and surfaces and the proper disposal of food waste. Hygiene in hospitality plays an important role in the marketing and promotion of the institution. In the modern day, customers are more aware of the importance of hygiene and are more likely to choose an establishment that ensures that food and beverage production is of an acceptable standard. Customer reviews are an important source of market feedback, and these reviews can affect the perception of the institution. Poor hygiene ratings can lead to customers avoiding the institution, while positive ratings help to increase customer loyalty. Steps to Prioritize Hygiene in the Hospitality Industry There are several steps that hospitality businesses can take to prioritize hygiene and improve customer satisfaction. First, it is important to regularly train employees on proper cleaning and disinfection techniques. This includes not only cleaning visible surfaces but also paying attention to high-touch areas like doorknobs, light switches, and phone receivers. Another important step is to invest in high-quality cleaning products and equipment. This includes not only traditional cleaning supplies like mops and buckets but also specialized products like electrostatic sprayers, which can help to more effectively disinfect surfaces. Finally, it is important for hospitality businesses to be transparent about their cleaning and disinfection efforts. This can include posting signs about the measures being taken to keep guests safe, as well as providing hand sanitizer and other personal protective equipment for employees and guests. Conclusion In the hospitality industry, hygiene plays a crucial role in determining customer satisfaction. Institutions should always strive to maintain a good hygiene standard, as it can help to create a positive customer experience, protect the health and safety of the customers and staff and increase the reputation of the institution. By regularly training employees, investing in quality cleaning products and equipment, and being transparent about their efforts, hospitality businesses can ensure that their properties are clean, safe, and well-maintained, leading to increased customer satisfaction.

Everything You Need To Know About Monkeypox

Three years since WHO announced the COVID-19 pandemic, the warning bells are ringing yet again. This time, it’s not from China, but a new viral disease that has its roots in Central and West Africa. Although known for decades, Monkeypox has been spreading rapidly and quietly in regions never reported before. This prompted WHO on 23rd July 2022 to declare it a “public health emergency of international concern”. But what exactly is Monkeypox? How worried should we be? And, is it likely to trigger another Corona-like pandemic? While new information about Monkeypox is still emerging, we’ve collected information from the World Health Organization and Central for Disease Control (CDC) to answer some common questions you might have about the disease. What is Monkeypox? Monkeypox is a viral disease that causes lesions on the skin that often looks like pus-filled pimples or blisters. It is a mild illness caused by infection with the Monkeypox virus, a close relative to the now eradicated and more severe smallpox virus. Is the disease deadly? A silver lining in the outbreak is that the disease is not as severe as smallpox. It is also not as contagious as COVID-19. Outbreaks, therefore, tend to be small because the virus does not spread at a fast rate. Unlike smallpox, monkeypox is also rarely fatal. The disease has a fatality rate of 3-6% based on recent cases. What are the symptoms of Monkeypox? According to the CDC, there are a few ways you can prevent the spread of the monkeypox virus. They include. a. Practicing good hand hygiene, washing hands frequently with soap and water as well as using hand sanitizers b. Using personal protective equipment when caring for infected patients c. Avoiding contact with items that might have been contacting with the patient or animal with the monkeypox virus   — Kim-Fay is committed to helping our customers maintain clean, safer and healthier workspaces through intelligent solutions tailored to meet your specific needs. To shake or not to shake? What to do when bumping hands just doesn’t cut it

A nice, firm handshake was a ‘normal’ and perhaps, the go-to greeting for many of us a couple of years ago. The gesture was so ingrained in our culture that it was almost an automatic reflex to stretch out our arms in all our social encounters. Then came Covid. Namaste, fist bumps, elbow bumps, and [insert your fav no-touch greeting here ] quickly took over the social-etiquette scene and people started avoiding handshakes. Awareness by health experts on COVID-19 safety guidelines, may in fact go down in history as the main reason for the decline of this once popular germy greeting. However, old habits die hard and the ancient greeting was always going to make a comeback, and … it has! In Kenya “you can now shake hands again” is happening in many social settings even without an official statement from the Ministry of Health. From formal interactions to the recent political rallies, handshakes are being handed out in abandon just like in the good old pre-Covid days. We can also bet you’ve also had to face a stretched-out arm and make a nerve-wracking decision of whether to shake or not to shake in recent times.  So the question looms; what do you do when someone offers their hand for a shake? Refuse to shake their germy paws and face a potentially awkward situation? Or just ‘go with the flow’ and ignore everything that has been drilled into our brains these past two years?  Join us as we navigate the rather awkward social situation of bumping, waving, and shaking in 2022 and beyond. Some touchy issues the handshake poses… Handshakes have always played a central role in making our interactions personal. A look at the science behind the gesture, however, shows that the gesture isn’t as pleasant as it may seem.  For starters, hands contain thousands of bacteria per square inch. On average, Pfizer says our hands carry 3200 different types of germs, some of which can be infectious and cause disease. Shaking hands passes these germs from one person to another which increases the chances of spreading illnesses such as covid-19 and the latest monkeypox. Handshakes also transmit germs two times as much as fist-bumps or high fives according to research. This has prompted some medical experts in the past to state that they’d even wish we got rid of them for good. “I don’t think we should ever shake hands again, to be honest with you,” said Dr Anthony Fauci, a top pandemic advisor, in the US, back in 2020 “Not only would it be good to prevent coronavirus disease, it probably would decrease instances of influenza dramatically in this country.” That said, getting rid of the handshake hasn’t been easy. For most of us, the shake holds a deep-seated meaning that it might seem disrespectful or downright hostile to not engage in the gesture, especially with relatives and friends.  So, what should you do if you simply can’t avoid the shake? Can’t completely shake off the handshake? Here’s what to do If you can’t get rid of handshakes during social interactions, it is much safer if you keep up with the safety practices of covid-19. Professor Althoff of Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health says, “If you’re going to bring your handshake back, just make sure you’re also bringing your hand sanitiser.” As opposed to handwashing, a sanitiser is convenient and easily accessible, allowing you to use it regularly and while on the go.  In the workplace, providing access to sanitisers, dispensers, and hands soaps can make help make the shake more sanitary for everyone. Wave the germy handshake goodbye Whether you are a bumper, a shaker or a hugger we can all agree greetings will always be our unique way of communicating and introducing ourselves in social settings. As we battle with the pandemic, let’s make this experience more hygienic by avoiding physical contact when we can, and maintaining good hand hygiene when we choose to engage in the shake.
